Friday February 7, February 2020, we are at the Zenith of Paris for an evening that promises to be awesome, with three bands: Sabaton, Apocalyptica, and Amaranthe.
Three groups, and three styles of fans, who are present despite the cool weather.
We arrive at the box office to get our tickets, and see that the waiting line is quite long. We recognize the fans by their t-shirts.
We enter the room, ushers are waiting for us, this is the first time I have seen this. The organization is perfect.
The room fills up, the pit is full of fans, it’s phenomenal.
In front of us, a large screen that broadcasts advertisements during the wait. The sound is exceptional, it promises for the rest of the evening.
The lights go out and the music starts. We recognize Amaranthe who arrives on stage.
Elize Ryd, Henrik, Olaf and Nils attack the first title: « Maximalism« . The fans howl with joy. Elize is unleashed, she always dances and sings very well, especially in duet with Nils, the new singer of the group. The group continues with « Maximize« , a title released in video clip on August 29, 2017, sung as a duet by Elize & Henrik, then by Nils & Henrik. No false note on this title, for the pleasure of the crowd.
Then follows « Digital World« , of the same name as the album, released in 2015. Each song performed by the group is pure pleasure for our ears. We also find « Hunger« , which dates from 2011, a title from the beginning of Amaranthe’s career, and one of my favorite songs from the group: « Amaranthine » a ballad that calms the audience during this musical sweetness.
Fans will be woken up by the song « GG6« , with the guttural voice of Henrik, softened by that of Elize Ryd. Then the group continues with « Helix » (video below).
Titles follow one another. Throughout the concert Amaranthe makes us happy interpreting titles from band’s beginnings and now. A pure moment, where we saw that the members of Amaranthe did not lack energy and voice for the delight of the fans present at this evening.

The group leaves the stage. It’s time to welcome Apocalyptica, eagerly awaited by the public and fans 😊.
Apocalyptica arrives on stage with the first title: « Ashes Of The Modern World« . The audience is present on this dark and gothic melody. The group continues with « Path« , centerpiece of the album « Cult » which brings more freshness with its cellos.
We let ourselves be enchanted by the titles throughout the concert. We arrive at the duet part of the show with the titles: « Seemann » & « I don’t care« , sung with Elize Ryd. I didn’t recognize her right away, it was when she raised her voice that I understood that it was her 😊.
The titles continue to follow one another. We are almost at the end, the group talks the public and the fans, and improvises a Marseillaise with its cellos, which the whole room takes up in chorus 😊 (Video below).
The show comes to its end, Apocalyptica leaves the stage to leave place for the much awaited Sabaton. The audience is hot.

Apocalyptica, 07/02/2020
The scene is prepared behind the curtain. A few minutes later, he got up for Sabaton.
Joakim and the other members arrive on stage on the music of « In Flanders Fields » and « Sun Tzu Says« . The crowd of the pit approaches the scene.
The first title, « Ghost Division » is launched, the band members are thoroughly. It is followed by « Great War« . The titles follow one another, illustrated on video by images of wars. With the great sound of the room, it’s impressive to see and hear.
The stage decoration is perfectly in accordance with band’s inspiration, the war: we see a tank on the right, and across the width of the stage is installed a wall of sandbags covered with barbed wire. The illusion of being on a battlefield is successful.
The concert is very festive for the greatest pleasure of the public. Joacim talks to the audience. He made an aside on the second concert they made at Hellfest to replace Manowar, explaining that they had ensured the show despite technical problems.
I found this moment very nice. A humble artist who gives crazy energy on stage.
My favorite title of the show: « The Attack Of The Dead Men« , excellent song with Pär Sundström, the bass player fidgeting in all directions with a smile, accompanied by Tommy Johansson, the young guitarist of the group. Without forgetting Chris Rörland, and Hannes Van Dahl, installed in the tank.
The Apocalyptica & Sabaton duet was the magic moment of this concert, for a series of 6 titles. Unforgettable moment, the fans loved it.
The show ends with loud applause from the audience. 19 titles were played, including the two intros at the start, and the encores at the end of this fabulous show.

To absolutely do once again, a very good evening at the Zenith in Paris.
A big thank you to Heavy1.Rradio for the contest, Le Zenith de Paris, without forgetting Amaranthe, Apocalyptica and Sabaton for this evening.

Vendredi 7 février février 2020, nous voici au Zénith de Paris pour une soirée qui s’annonce grandiose avec trois groupes : Sabaton, Apocalyptica, et Amaranthe.
Trois groupes, et trois styles de fans, qui ont répondu présent pour cette soirée un peu fraiche.
Nous arrivons pour récupérer nos places au guichet, et nous constatons que la file d’attente est assez grande. On reconnaît les fans présents à leurs tee-shirts.
Nous entrons dans la salle du Zénith, des placeurs nous attendent, c’est la première fois que je vois ça. L’organisation est parfaite.
La salle se remplit, la fosse est pleine à craquer de fans, c’est phénoménal.
Face à nous, un grand écran qui diffuse des publicités durant l’attente. Le son est exceptionnel, ça promet pour le reste de la soirée.
Les lumières s’éteignent et la musique commence. On reconnait Amaranthe qui arrive sur scène.
Elize Ryd, Henrik, Olaf et Nils attaquent le premier titre : « Maximalism« . Les fans hurlent de joie. Elize est déchaînée, elle danse et chante toujours aussi bien, notamment en duo avec Nils, le nouveau chanteur du groupe. Le groupe enchaîne avec « Maximize« , un titre sorti en clip vidéo le 29 août 2017, chanté en duo par Elize & Henrik, puis par Nils & Henrik. Aucune fausse note sur ce titre, pour le plaisir du public.
Puis suit « Digital World« , du même nom que l’album, sortie en 2015. Chaque chanson interprétée par le groupe est un pur plaisir pour nos oreilles. Nous retrouvons également « Hunger« , qui date de 2011, un titre du début de leur carrière, et l’un de mes titres préférés du groupe : « Amaranthine » une ballade qui apaise le public le temps de cette douceur musicale.
Les fans seront réveillés par le titre « GG6« , avec la voix gutturale d’Henrik, adoucie par celle d’Elize Ryd. Puis le groupe enchaîne avec « Helix » (ci-dessous la vidéo).
Les titres s’enchainent. Tout le long du concert le groupe Amaranthe nous fait la joie d’interpréter des titres des débuts et de maintenant. Un pur moment où nous avons constaté que les membres d’Amaranthe n’ont pas manqué pas d’énergie et de voix pour le plus grand plaisir des fans présents ce soir.

Le groupe quitte la scène. Il est temps d’accueillir Apocalyptica, très attendu par le public et les fans 😊.
Apocalyptica arrive sur scène avec le premier titre : « Ashes Of The Modern World« . Le public se fait entendre sur cette mélodie sombre et gothique. Le groupe enchaîne avec « Path« , pièce maîtresse de l’album « Cult » qui amène plus de fraicheur avec ses violoncelles.
On se laisse envouter par les titres durant tout le concert. Nous arrivons au duo du show avec les titres : « Seemann » & « I don’t care« , chantés avec Elize Ryd. Je ne l’ai pas reconnue de suite, c’est quand elle a élevé la voix que j’ai compris que c’était elle 😊.
Les titres continuent à s’enchainer. On arrive presque à la fin, le groupe s’adresse au public et aux fans, et improvise une Marseillaise avec ses violoncelles, que toute la salle reprend en chœur 😊 (Vidéo ci-dessous).
Le show se termine, Apocalyptica quitte la scène pour laisser place à Sabaton, très attendu. Le public est chaud bouillant.

La scène se prépare derrière le rideau. Quelques minutes plus tard, il se relève pour le groupe Sabaton.
Joakim et les autres membres arrivent sur scène sur la musique de « In Flanders Fields » et « Sun Tzu Says« . La foule de la fosse se rapproche de la scène.
Le premier titre, « Ghost Division » est lancé, les membres du groupe sont a fond. Il est suivi de « Great War« . Les titres s’enchaînent, illustrés en vidéo par des images de guerres. Avec l’excellent son de la salle, c’est impressionnant à voir et entendre.
Le décor de la scène est fidèle à la thématique du groupe : on aperçoit un char d’assaut sur la droite, et sur toute la largeur du plateau est installé un mur de sac de recouvert de fils barbelés. L’illusion d’être sur un champ de bataille est réussie.
Le concert est très festif pour le plus grand plaisir du public. Joacim prend la parole. Il fait un aparté sur le deuxième concert qu’ils ont fait au Hellfest pour remplacer Manowar, expliquant avoir assuré le show malgré des problèmes techniques.
J’ai trouvé ce moment très sympa. Un artiste humble qui donne une énergie de fou sur scène.
Mon titre préféré du show : « The Attack Of The Dead Men« , excellent morceau avec le Pär Sundström, le bassiste gigotant en tous sens avec le sourire, accompagné de Tommy Johansson, le jeune guitariste du groupe. Sans oublier Chris Rörland, et Hannes Van Dahl, installés dans le char d’assaut.

Le duo Apocalyptica & Sabaton a été l’instant magique de ce concert, pour une série de 6 titres. Inoubliable moment, les fans ont adoré.
Le show se termine sous les applaudissements nourris du public. 19 titres au total y compris les deux intro au début, et deux rappels pour clore ce fabuleux concert.
A refaire absolument, une très bonne soirée au Zénith de Paris.
