En ce jeudi 20 juin 2019, nous sommes déjà à Clisson pour le Knot Fest, entrée en matière avant le Hellfest pour le bonheur des fans de metal.
Au programme, 10 concerts très attendus par les fans de Slipnot, Amon Amarth, Sabaton et bien d’autres groupes, pour notre plus grand plaisir.
Pour ma part c’était Amaranthe que j’attendais impatiemment pour shooter notre chère Elize Ryd.
Ouverture des portes à 16h et début des concerts à 16h30.

Le public s’avance en masse pour le premier concert, avec Sick of it all qui nous vient de New-York. Le groupe annonce la couleur avec du bon son hardcore, qui motive le public a pogoter et slamer.
Un groupe plein d’énergie qui bouge dans tous les sens, C’est puissant, rythmé et ultra-accrocheur. Les fans se jettent dans tous les sens. 40 minutes de concert avec une setlist parfaitement exécutée.

The public is coming in droves for the first concert, with Sick of it all coming from New York. The group announces the color with good hardcore sound, which motivates the public to pog and slam.

On ne présente plus Amaranthe qui nous vient de Suède. Le charme d’Elize Ryd envoûte les fans et le public du Knot Fest.
Le groupe arrive sur scène et nous joue du bon power metal qui ravit le public, avec en intro Helix, puis Maximize. On est embarqué par le son et la voix d’Elize.
Le public est conquis. Les titres s’enchaînent pour une setlist de 10 titres bien connus, tels que Nexus, Amaranthine… Le groupe interagit avec le public, un bon moment sous cette chaleur d’été.

18h / 18h40 : Ministry
Ministry, qui nous vient de Chicago, est un pilier de la scène rock industriel / heavy metal, pour le plaisir du public présent pour le Knot Fest.
On découvre en guise de décor un pied de micro avec un squelette d’aigle. Al Jourgensen assure le show, pendant 40 minutes pour le plaisir des fans du groupe.
Les titres s’enchaînent , les slams aussi. Al, déchaîné sur scène, gigote dans tous les sens. Le show se termine, il est temps de dire au revoir au groupe, qui a ravi le public.

Ministry, which comes from Chicago, is a mainstay of the industrial / heavy metal rock scene, for the pleasure of the public present for the Knot Fest.
We discover as a decoration a microphone stand with an eagle skeleton. Al Jourgensen ensures the show, during 40 minutes for the pleasure of the fans of the group.
The titles are linked, the slams too. Al, unleashed on stage, jumps in all directions. The show ends, it’s time to say goodbye to the group, which delighted the audience

18h45 / 19h30 : Behemoth
C’est au tour de Behemoth, avec son chanteur, Nergal, d’arriver sur scène, Les musiciens sont affublés de masques de crânes, noirs, brillants, ça surprend tout le monde, y compris moi-même.
Le show commence le public est chaud, et pogote directement sans se faire attendre, la chaleur se fait de plus en plus lourde pour ce premier jour. Le ton est donné, avec des riffs stridents qui résonnent.
Le décor d’arrière-plan, avec des têtes de morts, est surprenant. Même si l’on n’est pas fan, on ne peut qu’apprécier. Sans oublier les lance-flammes de chaque côté de la scène, qui donnent un sacré spectacle. Le public est conquis.

It’s the turn of Behemoth, with his singer, Nergal, to come on stage, The musicians are decked out with skull masks, black, shiny, it surprises everyone, including myself.
The show starts the public is hot, and pogote directly without being waited, the heat is more and more heavy for this first day. The tone is given, with strident riffs that resonate.
The backdrop, with skulls, is surprising. Even if you are not a fan, you can not help but appreciate it. Not to mention the flame throwers on each side of the stage, which give a show. The audience is conquered

19h35 / 20h20 : Papa Roach
Je découvre ce groupe et son chanteur complètement déjanté. Le set commence par Last Resort. Les titres s’enchaînent, le public chante en cœur avec Jacoby Shaddix des titres bien connus des fans.
Jacoby va vers son public, et se laisse attraper par certains fans. Un super échange entre l’artiste et le public. Une présence scénique qu’on n’oubliera pas, avec ses sauts frénétiques.
Un pur moment, avec des titres accrocheurs. Jacoby finit le concert en sueur.

I discover this group and its completely crazy singer. The set begins with » Last Resort « . The titles are linked, the audience sings in heart with Jacoby Shaddix titles well known fans.
Jacoby goes to his audience, and gets caught by some fans. A great exchange between the artist and the public. A scenic presence that will not be forgotten, with its frantic jumps.

Le groupe arrive sur scène, maquillé et costumé au milieu d’une scène au décor juste parfait.
Le public acclame le groupe. Attila Dorn, annonce la couleur avec son micro sur pied en forme d’épée, avec le premier titre du set : Fire and Forgive, du bon power metal. Une belle ouverture de cérémonie, pour le plus grand plaisir du public.
Attila parle au public en français, et le public répond, c’est assez marrant de voir ça. Les titres s’enchaînent, les membres du groupe prennent plaisir à jouer, entre les riffs, les notes des synthétiseurs, la batterie. Le show était au top, un pur moment.

On ne présente plus Rob Zombie qui arrive sur scène pour un show horrifique à coup de grosses guitares.
On a de la chance cette fois ci, il fait encore jour, donc pas de lumière rouge ou verte, ce qui facilite les photos… Rob Zombie joue un répertoire partagé entre un son metal typique et des sonorités plus pop.
Un Rob Zombie en grande forme qui a ravi son public. Le show était au top, avec une setlist bien remplie pour le bonheur des fans et de la foule présente.

We’re lucky this time, it’s still day, so no red or green light, which facilitates the photos … Rob Zombie plays a repertoire shared between a typical metal sound and sounds more pop.

Nos chers vikings sont de retour pour le Knot Fest. Johan Heggs arrive sur scène en pleine forme, avec les membres du groupe qui annoncent le ton dès le premier titre : The Pursuit of Vikings, l’un des titres phares des débuts du groupe.
Ambiance survoltée et grosse chaleur, amplifiée par les lance-flammes sur les côtés de la scène, c’était une fournaise. Le show est au point, les titres s’enchaînent, tels que : Deceiver of the Gods, First Kill, The Way of Vikings, que du bon pour nos oreilles. Un pur moment.
Les deux derniers groupes à passer seront Slipknot, (pas de photos, accréditation sur liste exclusivement) et Sabaton (Horaire trop tardif).

Le Knot Fest est un sympathique petit festival d’avant Hellfest avec des groupes géniaux et un public présent. Pas de sold-out pour ce jour-là, mais un public présent malgré une chaleur écrasante. Une très bonne soirée en prélude à la grand-messe du Hellfest.

The Knot Fest is a friendly little pre-Hellfest festival with great bands and a busy audience. No sold-out for that day, but an audience present despite overwhelming heat. A very good evening as a prelude to the Hellfest Mass.
