Year 2017 starts very well for Ninkasi Kao concert room. The Swedish band Hammerfall has decided to stop at Lyon for its unique French date of its European tour. After a sold out show in Lyon in the beginning of 2015, this date was very awaited by French fans, including me. The show was organized by Sound Like Hell Productions.
Hammerfall was accompanied by two other bands that I didn’t know : Lancer (Sweden) & Glory Hammer (from outer space)
The evening promised to be perfect. The Ninkasi room filled up very quickly, fans of Hammerfall and Glory Hammer had stood in front of the stage to welcome their fetish groups.
The show begins with Lancer, a band founded in 2009, which comes to present its third album, Mastery, released on Nuclear Blast label. The album received a very good review
Lancer starts his first title: Dead Raising Towers, some good old heavy metal. This already announces the color, the public already begins to dance pogo. It’s crazy there!
Titles follow: Future Millennia, Purple Sky, Behind the Walls. The performance of the musicians is of a very good quality, with perfect riffs. The fans are delighted.
Isak Stenvall, the singer of the group Lancer, managed to conquer the public, despite some hesitations at the beginning of the concert. Throwing was a very good discovery of this evening.

A short pause to install the stage for the next group, Glory Hammer, that the audience is eager to discover. Fans are flocking to the stage to cheer them.
So here is Glory Hammer the group that come straight from outer space. The name of the group makes us think directly of Hammerfall.
The band comes to the stage, the audience is delirious. The members are wearing costumes of Viking inspiration, but from space. This is quite surprising.
When the musicians are in place, Thomas Winkler, the singer arrives in a very special outfit, and with sunglasses. Strange could be said, but no, a mid viking mid space theme, someone should have thought of it.
I discovered at the same time that the people who did not know the group, a strong enough sound, with a very festive side, sometimes spectacular. The public asks for more.
The songs tell us beautiful stories throughout the show. The musicians make us acts quite fun to see. A quality and well-established show. A pure moment of delirium.
The show ends, the stage empties. It’s time to install the equipment to host Hammerfall, which show is very much anticipated by the fans that came expressly for this unique date in Lyon, which is announced sold out.
Oscar, Pontus, Frederik arrive on stage, fans are delirious, they shout « Joacim, Joacim« . Joacim arrives and launches the first title: Hector’s Hymn, picked up by the audience. The songs follow each other: Riders of the Storm, Bring It! Blood Bound, and many more, from previous albums. And from the new one, released November 6, 2016 at Nuclear Blast under the name: Built to Last, which received very good reviews from the public.
A Ninkasi full of people, even the floor was occupied by the crowd. The public came from all over France to see his favorite band.
In the audience, we saw people slamming during the show. It was amazing, but fun to see. Joacim had to calm down the game of a person who had come on stage, nicely of course.
Compared to 2015, we feel the musical progress of the band live. A show perfectly played, pure happiness to listen.
The audience sang in chorus with Joacim. Oscar with his stage game and his guitar in Thor’s hammer shape, just magnificent to see, not to mention our dear Pontus and its very powerful riffs throughout the show.
We noticed that former guitarist Stefan Elmgren was no longer part of the band. He was replaced by Frederik Larsson who has very well ensure throughout the show, thing are in safe hands.
The show ends, Joacim and the rest of the group say one last goodbye to the fans, who thank the group for this performance at the top.
A very good time at Ninkasi Kao, with three bands that made us vibrate for a beautiful winter evening.

L’année 2017 commence bien pour la salle du Ninkasi Kao. Le groupe suédois Hammerfall a décidé de passer par Lyon pour son unique concert français de leur tournée européenne. Après un sold-out lors de leur dernier passage à Lyon début 2015, ce concert était très attendu par leurs fans français dont moi-même. Le show était organisé par Sounds Like Hell Productions.
Hammerfall était accompagné de deux groupes que je ne connaissais pas : Lancer (Suède) & Glory Hammer (Outer Space) .
La soirée s’annonçait parfaite. La salle du Ninkasi se remplissait très rapidement, les fans de Hammerfall et de Glory Hammer s’étaient postés devant la scène pour accueillir leurs groupes fétiches.
Le show débute par le groupe Lancer qui a vu le jour en 2009, et qui nous vient nous présenter son 3ème album, Mastery, sorti sous le label Nuclear Blast. L’album a reçu une très bonne critique.
Lancer entame son premier titre : Dead Raising Towers, du bon vieux heavy metal. Ça annonce déjà la couleur, le public commence déjà à pogoter. C’est la folie.
Les titres s’enchaînent : Future Millennia, Purple Sky, Behind the Walls. La prestation des musiciens est d’une très bonne qualité, avec des riffs parfaits. Les fans sont ravis.
Isak Stenvall, le chanteur du groupe Lancer, a su conquérir le public, malgré quelques hésitations au début du concert. Lancer a été une très bonne découverte de cette soirée.
Une petite pause le temps d’installer la scène pour le groupe suivant, Glory Hammer, que le public est impatient de découvrir. Les fans sont en masse devant la scène pour les acclamer.
Voici donc Glory Hammer le groupe qui nous viens tout droit de l’espace lointain. Le nom du groupe nous fait penser directement à Hammerfall.
Le groupe rentre en scène le public est en délire, le groupe porte des costumes assez futuristes, d’inspiration viking, mais de l’espace. C’est assez surprenant.
Quand les musiciens sont en place, Thomas Winkler le chanteur arrive dans un habit très spécial avec ses lunettes de soleil. Étrange pourrait-on se dire, mais non, un thème mi viking, mi spatial, il fallait y penser.
Je découvre en même temps que les personnes qui ne connaissaient pas le groupe, un son assez puissant, fort , avec un coté très festif, voir spectaculaire. Le public en redemande.
Les titres nous racontent de belles histoires tout au long du show. Les musiciens nous font des numéros assez amusants à voir. Une prestation de qualité et bien rodée. Un pur moment de délire.

Un Ninkasi plein à craquer, même l’étage était occupé par la foule. Le public est venu de toute la France pour voir son groupe préféré.
Dans le public, on a vu des personnes qui slammaient pendant le show. C’était surprenant, mais amusant à voir. Joacim a dû à un moment calmer le jeu d’une personne qui était venue sur scène, gentiment bien sur.
Par rapport à 2015, on ressent le progrès musical du groupe en live. Un show parfaitement joué, un pur bonheur à l’écoute.
Le public chantait en chœur avec Joacim. Oscar avec son jeu de scène et sa guitare en forme de marteau de Thor, juste magnifique à voir, sans oublier notre cher Pontus et ses riffs très puissants pendant tout le show.

Le show se termine, les fans sont sur excités, la salle se vide lentement, une très bonne soirée encore une fois au Ninkasi à Lyon en compagnie de trois groupes qui ont assurés sur scène.
Je remercie Sounds Like Hell Productions, la salle du Ninkasi, pour l’organisation du concert, l’accueil du public, une soirée parfaite, sans oublier les groupes.
